ヱヴァ破"Carnage"歌詞和訳【解説付き】第10の使徒(ゼルエル)戦闘時BGM

「ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版：破」の"Carnage"の歌詞と和訳と訳の軽い解説です。
私の個人的な解釈です。
第10の使徒(旧ゼルエル)(破の最後のめっちゃつよい奴)とシンジ君が戦うときに流れる曲です。
破のコーラス有りの戦闘曲の中でも印象に残る方が多い曲ではないでしょうか。

かくして大虐殺が始まった

誰にも逃げ場はない
no quarter given or none taken in the bloodiest of all battles
この惨憺たる戦いにおいて慈悲は与えられず、また奪われもせず
the war to end all wars is here
全ての戦いを終わらせる為の戦いが今ここに始まった
the air is filled with heavy fear
重苦しい畏怖の念で満ち満ちている
Humanity is disappearing suffering as millions see slaughter
何百万もの人類の大虐殺を目の当たりにし、人間らしい心など失われてしまった
If there's no ending to this fight
この戦いに終演などないのならば
eternal darkness is our plight
永遠の闇がもたらすはただ窮状のみ
the darkest hour is upon us dying on the edge of destruction
破滅の淵にいる我々の上に在るのは漆黒の刻
multitudes will fall in the end its all universal
tragedy befalling the end of mankind
数多の人間が終焉へと堕ちていく
天が人類の滅亡を望んでいるかの如く、世界に災禍が降りかかる
Gods cannot help us
then no one can save us
if no one can save us
then we will be gone for all time
神々は我々を救い給わず、誰とて我々を救済することは叶わず
さすれば我々は永久に現世から消えるだろう

意訳の解説
And so the carnage has begun
かくして大虐殺が始まった
no hiding place for anyone
誰にも逃げ場はない
no quarter given or none taken in the bloodiest of all battles
この惨憺たる戦いにおいて慈悲は与えられず、また奪われもせず
quarter 慈悲の心 bloodiest 凄惨な、血みどろの
take 奪う
no quarter (is) given or none (quarter is) taken
というように、省略されているが受け身の文だと思う。

全ての戦いを終わらせる為の戦いが今ここに始まった
the air is filled with heavy fear
重苦しい畏怖の念で満ち満ちている
hereとfearの韻
私が最近訳したペルソナの"I Believe"という曲でもhereとfearの韻があった
もしかしてよく使われる韻なんでしょうか
Humanity is disappearing suffering as millions see slaughter
何百万もの人類の大虐殺を目の当たりにし、人間らしい心など失われてしまった
Humanity 人間らしさ suffer 直面する slaughter 大虐殺
人がモノのように無慈悲に殺されていくのを見て、悲しさなどを感じなくなってしまった、心が麻痺してしまった、ということでしょう

神々は我々を救い給わず、誰も我々を救済することは叶わず

be gone 死ぬ、いなくなる
確かここからは劇中では使用されていなかったと思うが、怒涛の迫力で淡々と歌詞が読まれる。一番好きなところ。
現世はうつしよ、と読むとオシャレ。

感想
第10の使徒が襲来したときにはコーラスの曲が沢山使われています。
どれもかっこいいのですが、ラストを飾るCarnageは歌詞も長く、トリにふさわしい曲になっています。
なるべく厨二っぽく訳したのですが、難しいですね。
